Guayaquil, Ecuador – On December 3, 2025, the Silueta X Association participated in the “Voces Unidas: género, discapacidad y salud mental” (United Voices: Gender, Disability, and Mental Health) event, organized by the Neurosciences Institute of the Junta de Beneficencia. Held within the framework of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the initiative aimed to promote reflection and collective action to eradicate gender-based violence from a comprehensive, intersectoral perspective.
Focus on Intersectional Challenges
The event addressed fundamental themes including gender diversity, disability, mental health, social stigmas, and human rights, highlighting the critical importance of building a more inclusive and equitable society. Through dialogue panels, presentations, and interactive workshops, the gathering created spaces to raise awareness about the challenges and opportunities in the fight against multiple forms of discrimination and violence.
Silueta X’s participation focused on presenting proposals and sharing experiences regarding how the intersection between gender diversity and disability can be better supported by including mental health approaches, ultimately promoting empathy and respect for individual differences.
Commitment to Holistic Inclusion
The Association celebrated the realization of such activities, reiterating its commitment to the promotion of human rights and social inclusion as fundamental pillars for harmonious coexistence.
Silueta X thanked the Neurosciences Institute of the Junta de Beneficencia for opening these essential spaces for dialogue and learning, which are vital for advancing towards a more just and equitable Ecuador.
